Common bent is the UK's most widely used grass seed species for the overseeding and renovation of golf and bowling greens. Bent can be found in free-draining sand soils, through to more moisture-retentive soils. The small seeds mean that it can be sown into an existing grass expanse without significant surface disturbance.

A 100% browntop bent grass seed (also known as common bent) mixture. Browntop bent is the most popular choice for overseeding of golf and bowling greens. Browntop bent creates and exceptionally dense surface that can be mown down to heights of 4mm and below. Browntop bent seed is incredibly fine, in fact it is almost like dust. Therefore although it may appear expensive to buy, one bag will cover around 10 times the area that a standard ryegrass/fescue mixture would cover.

  • Widely used on golf and bowling greens
  • Exceptional shoot density
  • Thrives on dry and slightly moist soils
  • Capable of being mown to heights of 4mm
  • Available 10kg bags. Contains 100% browntop bent.
  • Sowing rate = 10g per m² (10kg will cover 1000m²)
  • Overseeding rate = 5g per m² (10kg will cover 2000m²)
