Wet Soils & Clay Grass Seed

From

£44.00£124.00

Grass seed for clay soils that often sit wet or suffer from occasional flooding. Sometimes a wet lawn is unavoidable, especially on a clay soil, so it makes perfect sense to select a grass seed mixture that will tolerate wet soil conditions.

Heavy clay soils are often saturated in the winter, but can rapidly turn bone dry in the summer. Our Wet Soils Grass Seed contains tall fescue which is deep rooted and extremely tolerant of this type of soil condition.

MIXTURE CONTENTS:

  • 40% Perennial ryegrass
  • 40% Tall fescue
  • 20% Strong creeping red fescue

Weather

Hello the weather was incredibly dry just after I purchased the grass seed. This has affected the germination and growth, but although it is early days it seems fine.

Recovery in progress

After a large area of lawn died due to the wet winter, we ordered the damp tolerant seed. Arrived quickly and germinated in a few weeks. We'll see how it does long term.

We're so glad to hear that our Wet Soils & Clay Grass Seed is helping with your lawn recovery process. It's great to know that it germinated quickly and we hope it continues to thrive in the long term. Thank you for choosing our product and happy gardening!

Grass seed

Had seed down for over two weeks now and has not germinated at all. I know there has been cold nights but we have had some really warm days also. Maybe a bad batch

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear that you haven't seen any germination yet. It's possible that recent weather conditions, such as warm, dry days and cold nights, may have affected the germination process in some areas. We recommend continuing to water the area and giving the seed some more time to establish. Please keep in mind that Rye grass can take anywhere between 7-14 days to germinate, while Fescue can take up to 21 days. We appreciate your patience and hope to see your lawn fully covered soon. Thanks for choosing our product!
